What stays on your device
Your timer settings, task list, daily statistics and theme preference are saved in your browser's local storage under the keys pomotimr:v1 and pomotimr:theme. That data is never transmitted anywhere. We have no server, no database and no account system, so there is nowhere for it to go and no way for us to read it.
This means what you are working on is genuinely private. The text of your tasks, how long you focus and how often you use the timer are visible only to you.
What we measure
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people use the site and which pages they find useful. It records things like the page you are on, roughly where in the world you are, and whether you are on a phone or a desktop. It sets cookies in your browser to recognise a returning visit.
Google Analytics does not receive anything you type into PomoTimr. Your tasks, your settings and your statistics are never part of it, because they never leave your browser in the first place.

Opting out
You can stop analytics entirely with any of the following, and the timer will keep working exactly as it does now:
- Google's own browser opt-out add-on
- Any content blocker or privacy extension
- A browser that blocks third-party trackers by default, such as Firefox or Brave
- Your browser's “Do Not Track” or anti-tracking setting
What we do not do
- No accounts, so there is no email address or password to collect.
- No advertising, and no advertising networks.
- We do not sell or share data with anyone.
- No tracking of what you actually work on.
Fonts
The interface uses the Inter typeface, served from this site rather than from a third party, so loading a page does not tell a font provider that you visited.
Notifications
If you turn on desktop notifications, your browser asks for permission and the notification is created locally when a session ends. Nothing is transmitted.
Deleting your data
Open Settings and choose Clear all data. That removes everything PomoTimr has stored on your device. Clearing your browser's site data does the same thing, and also clears the analytics cookies.
